One-by-One, Inc. is proud to offer the services of its Speakers Bureau to schools, universities, and civic or religious organizations.

Our members bring personal experience to one of the most horrific chapters in human history. We have learned that by listening to one another's family histories, it becomes possible for us to gain understanding and feel compassion for the legacies each of us has inherited. We offer a hopeful perspective by teaching the art of listening and acceptance. By sharing our stories we are able to put a human face on the consequences of hatred and indifference in the world and to model for others the possibility of putting an end to inherited prejudices and enmities.

One-by-One members are available to discuss the dialogue process we have created. We offer panel presentations which model this dialogue process. One-by-One members have been invited to speak at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C., the International Convocation for Peace, and the Bearing Witness Retreat, both at Auschwitz, Poland. We have presented our work to more than one hundred organizations, including middle schools, high schools, universities, synagogues and churches. We have spoken at the Technical University of Berlin, the Bunting Institute at Radcliffe College, Amherst College, Tufts University and many other colleges and universities. (Please see below for a complete listing.)

One-by-One has been featured on Dateline NBC as well as on other television and radio programs in the U.S., Germany and Italy. In the fall of 2000 four of our members traveled to Bosnia to share their personal experiences in public forums with the Muslim and Serb peoples. Their work with Muslim and Serb educators resulted in the initiation of honest encounters among members of these polarized groups for the first time.

One-by-One has also produced a multi-media event which includes an art exhibit, poetry readings, drama and music which was featured at the RICA gallery in Housatonic, Massachusetts; The Puffin Room Gallery in New York City and in Teaneck, New Jersey; Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts; the Ballhaus in Berlin, Germany and the Casa delle Letterature in Rome, Italy. The work of One-by-One artists was featured in an exhibit in Rome, Italy from January through February 2001. The exhibit was under the auspices of La Rete D'indra, which also sponsored educational videos and panel discussions with One-by-One members about fascism, war and genocide.
